Earlier this year, we announced the launch of the Generation Google Scholarship to support students who are underrepresented in computer science throughout their undergraduate education.

We are excited to announce the first class of Generation Google Scholars, who are all high school seniors and will be attending a university in the Fall of 2012:

  • Jenny Lin, Massachusetts Institute of Technology

  • Rachel Mellon, Stanford University
  • Sabrina Shemet, Massachusetts Institute of Technology
  • Samantha Swartz, Worcester Polytechnic Institute
  • Yjaden Wood, Northwestern University
Generation Google Scholars will receive a $10,000 academic scholarship for up to four years or until graduation, and will be invited to attend Google’s Computer Science Summer Institute this summer.
