The sun is shining and the school year is ending - summer is here! And at Google, summertime means interns! Our summer interns, bright-eyed and ready to get to work, are currently arriving in Google offices around the globe.

This summer, the Google for Students team is excited to launch “Diary of a Summer Intern,” a new blog series designed to give you an inside look into what it means to be an intern at Google. Two of our summer interns - Jerrica Jones (Software Engineering Intern, Seattle) and Atima Lui (BOLD Intern, San Bruno) - will be posting throughout the summer, sharing their intern experiences with all of you.

Without further ado, we invite you to meet two of our fearless and fabulous interns, Jerrica and Atima.

Jerrica Jones

Jerrica just finished her junior year at the University of Arizona, where she is majoring in Computer Science. This summer, she will be working on the Google Chrome Team in our Seattle office. Jerrica hails from Tuscon, Arizona. She is returning to Google this year after a turn as a BOLD Practicum student in 2009! When she’s not studying hard, Jerrica likes to dance, take yoga classes, read, see movies, and play sports.

Atima Lui

Atima just completed her sophomore year at Washington University in St. Louis, where she is an International Business and Marketing major with a Spanish minor. This summer, Atima will be working on the Creative Productions Team at YouTube in San Bruno, CA. Atima comes to us from Topeka, Kansas, which renamed itself ‘Google’ for the entire month of March. (Google returned the favor, renaming itself ‘Topeka’ on April’s Fools Day 2010.) In her spare time, Atima loves to relax, listen to music, and watch her favorite TV shows Glee, Lost, Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice and Gossip Girl.

Stay tuned for more as we follow Jerrica and Atima through their summers at Google!
